Currently, I'm modernizing a price-change system written in Lotus Notes. This rewrite takes
advantage of modern technologies available on
IBM i like PHP,
My job responsibilities include
of my company's more than
servers. We are
forced to reboot
them daily to
keep applications running. The IBM i, on the other hand,
keeps on running. We only restart it once a
month after a full system backup.
I'm also president of Wisconsin Midrange
Computer Professional Association. The user
group has two goals: educate students about
IBM i and educate our members. Technology
changes fast. We show members what's new
and how they can use it.
We need to ensure college students have a
positive impression of IBM i. Millennials are
accustomed to modern technology. Given
a choice to work at a company with "cool"
applications running on tablets and browsers
or one running a green screen, they'll pick the
modern application. That's why modernization
is so important.
I work on a variety of projects on a custom
platform implemented on IBM Power Systems.
They include "SWIFT Integration" that enhances
the infrastructure linking our
to the SWIFT payment network.

I'm interested in developing a modern solution

provides. I use development languages such as
RPGLE, PHP, Python, SQL and Websmart.
We're working with an IBM partner in Italy
on a proof of concept using AI in a financial
environment. The data relates to a project involving investments and revenues. We want to
test AI in tracing anomalies in recurrent data to
increase data governance and quality.
